Authentic transit tokens, real European coins and actual pieces of computer board make the men’s accessory collection of Tokens & Coins a showcase of nostalgia and quality design. Perfect gifts for men with distinctive taste, these cufflinks, key rings and money clips are packaged in colorful map or computer graphic – wrapped gift boxes.

Industrial in design and unique in taste, the token jewelry collection features officially licensed products from six cities: New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Santa Monica, Calif. The idea was born in 1980 when New York discontinued its unique “Y” cut token, whose industrial design struck the founder of Tokens & Coins, Ward Wallau. After 11 years of persistent requests to the New York Transit Authority, Ward was finally granted exclusive license to produce men’s jewelry using the actual 1953 – 1980 discontinued tokens. Chicago approached him to do the same thing with its token, and the company expanded from there.

The new Euro came in January 1st, 2002… and the individual European currencies was phased out. For those who have family roots in Europe, these coins have strong sentimental value. Tokens & Coins has captured a piece of the Old World with its cufflinks using the French Franc, German Mark, Italian Lire, Irish Pound and Spanish Peseta.

The circuit “motherboard” that is the backbone of the computer has quickly become an icon. Teaming up with Motherboard a Chicago company known for its recycled computer clipboards, Token & Coins has created gifts from actual recycled circuit boards.

Additional new icons being incorporated into collections include buffalo nickels, mercury dimes, Honolulu token with “Hula Dancer”, leather clip wallets, crystal paperweights, and an array of Gift Sets….. all recycling nostalgic icons!

For the Skull Lovers

Post by Administrator on 05/20/2008

skull1.jpgAt MyGiftee.com, we pride ourselves on our wide selection of offerings. We truly believe that within our pages and pages of gift ideas, there is a perfect gift for every person. Some items are very popular and really go down well with almost anybody. Designer jewelry, stylish sunglasses, luxury spa items, ethnic candle sets, and romantically feminine gifts, all get swooped up by our eager customers. However, we also stock those items which perhaps not everybody would like, but one person would absolutely love. Our skull designed items are one example of that latter type of gift.

If you are a skull lover, or if your daughter, sun, husband or wife is a skull lover (though not in a weird way), then take a look at some of these gifts. Firstly, we have beautiful wraps designed by Valerie Perez which are colorful and cool. These lovely wraps come in five different designs, two of which are skull designs: “Skull Brown” and “Skull Pink”. These two wraps have stylish skull drawings surrounded by crystals, which creates a great contrast between delicacy and strength. These items wrap up neatly (pun intended) to be tucked away in your bag for traveling, or else you can keep them around the house for whenever you need them.

If you’re heading off on holidays or to the nearest beach, you can pair the above wrap by Valerie Perez with our Skull Flip Flops. Made by ‘Sugar Toes’, these flip flops are made out of genuine Brazilian Havaianas and decorated with beautiful swarovski crystals. Available in four different sizes, they are very comfortable, and really will make you stand out from the crowd with their silver skull decoration.

Team our third and final gift suggestion with any one of the previous gifts, or where it alone. Our silk skull scarves come in a gorgeous hand painted box with jester design. These items are Alexander McQueen copies and are available in black or white. They look great on plain outfits, so that all the focus is on the scarf. If we really want to stand out from the crowd, this scarf is for you!

Our skull gift items are just of the many groups of items which add such variety to our gift offerings at MyGiftee.com.

Hammam

Post by Administrator on 05/7/2008

hammam.jpg
A Hammam, or Turkish Bath, is one of the most wonderful things that you could experience if you travel to Turkey one day. Popular in the Middle East for many reasons, going to a Hammam is a routine event, and certainly something that we in the West should consider taking up. If we all scheduled relaxation and self-care into our busy schedules, well, we would all be much more laid back.

Hammams are used for more than one reason; as places for social gatherings (what better time to have a chat with a friend than when you are totally relaxed?) and ritual cleansing (the steam completely allows toxins in the body to escape). The experience of the Hammam consists of first relaxing in the ‘warm room’ which is heated by a continuous flow of hot air, then moving to the ‘hot room’ which is, as the name entails, an even hotter room, before finally splashing with cold water. But it doesn’t end here. You then have a full body wash and then, the best part, receive a massage. You then head to the ‘cooling room’ to really dwell on your new found total relaxation.

The alternative name for Hammam; Turkish Bath, was created by Europeans finding out about this beautiful ritual through contact with the Ottomans in Turkey. However, Hammams are not found only in Turkey, but also Morocco, Syria, Iran and Yemen. At least once in their life, every person should travel to one of these countries and try out this luxurious experience for themselves.
However, if you don’t have time to do that right now, at MyGiftee.com we have two exotic gift sets which will, if not offer the full Hammam experience, evoke the same feelings of relaxation.

Firstly, we have an exotic Hammam Tea Gift Set which contains two beautifully decorated Moroccan tea glasses, a generous box of Hammam tea, and a pack of beverage sized Marrakech design paper napkins. With this set, you will be able to invite your friends over for a Moroccan tea, and really share your gift with the people you love. If you don’t buy this set for yourself, it also makes a wonderful gift, perhaps to someone who has visited Morocco and is yearning to go back.

Our second gift offering almost will give you an authentic Hammam experience, or as authentic experience as you can have in your own home. The Hammam Gift Set contains a pack of Hammam tea inspired by a traditional Turkish recipe, a Pain d’alep soap made with 80% olive oil and 16% laurel oil, a Sisal mitt for exfoliation, Pumice stones, and Massage oil made with olive and almond oils, black cumin and perfumed with essential jasmine oil. A truly luxurious and exotic gift!
Experience a little bit of the Middle East in your own home!
