American dream.

bow.jpg

Here at MyGiftee.com we are pleased to present the Vera Bradley Company.
The Vera Bradley story is a testimony to the American Dream: While on vacation in March of 1982, Patricia and Barbara were awaiting a flight in Atlanta when they began to notice a definite lack of feminine carry-on luggage. The longtime friends wasted no time in correcting this situation. Within weeks, these dynamic women had created a company, named after Barbara’s mother, capable of marketing and manufacturing their cleverly designed products.

The demand for their unique luggage and handbags has grown and so has Vera Bradley, which is now nationally and internationally recognized. For over twenty years, Vera Bradley has cultivated a loyal following of customers who not only look forward to our lovely new fabrics and styles that are introduced each season, but who also appreciate the function and quality that is synonymous with our name. As a devoted retailer once noted, customers feel “Vera Bradley is something worth waiting for, something worth saving for, and something worth adding on to.”

Who would have imagined that over 25 years ago a friendship and simple idea would grow to be the company Vera Bradley is today? So many things have worked in our favor. Having a great idea at the right time. Having a good name — after Barbara Bradley Baekgaard’s mother. And having so many friends who helped launch what has become an American dream.

Located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Vera Bradley remains steadfast in our commitment to excellent quality, dependable service and tasteful, innovative designs.

Vera Bradley has earned a reputation as a leader in the gift industry. Creating stylish quilted cotton luggage, handbags and accessories, the company combines smart product designs with distinctive and colorful fabrics and trims.

Buckwheat Pillows

time1.jpg

Here at MyGiftee.com we are pleased to give you an opportunity to try these well-being products. Nothing beats a good night’s sleep, so it’s important to find the pillow that will support and pamper your neck in just the right ways. Most pillows are filled with feathers, fiberfill, or foam. In Japan, however, people sleep on buckwheat pillows. Buckwheat hull pillows have been used traditionally in Japan for centuries to ensure a restful, healthy sleep. Buckwheat hulls are a unique and natural filling that allows for air circulation and ease of motion. They won’t compress during the night, so your neck won’t have to strain to find a relaxed position. The small buckwheat hulls shift inside the case to match the exact contour of your neck and head. They provide support that allows your muscles to relax completely all night long, providing symptomatic relief of the aches and pains associated with tight, sore muscles. The even support means no more cramps or muscle tension both of which are known to contribute to headaches. Natural buckwheat filling is ideal for people allergic to feathers and synthetic materials. Since they are small and easy to carry, these malleable pillows are also a great present for friends who travel a lot. Dream Time’s buckwheat pillows truly are preventative therapy.

Classic Pillow provides pure Buckwheat Bliss. Largest full-sized bed pillow is moldable and adjustable for extraordinary support and comfort.

Buckwheat-filled Zafu Cushion is cradles and conforms to your body, encouraging proper spinal alignment. The discreet side handle makes it easy to bring your Zafu on outings or simply to move from room to room.

Pearls – birthstone of month of June

Pearl Essence

pearls1.jpg
Pearls have long been appreciated for their subtlety, but a number of designers now are using the gems in pieces that are anything but demure.

Even when abetted by the most advanced pearl-farming methods, an oyster’s chances of producing a high-quality South Sea pearl are no better than about 200 to 1.
At depths as great as 260 feet in the Indian Ocean off of northern Australia, divers gather these oysters while adhering to strict quotas that the Australian government has imposed to preserve the species. In the wild, a pearl forms around a parasite or a shell that becomes lodged within the oyster. The oyster reacts by secreting layers of nacre – a smooth, hard crystalline substance – around the irritant, and those layers eventually form a pearl. On board a vessel that serves as a kind of floating laboratory, technicians implant each oyster with spherical piece of freshwater mussel shell, around which, in theory, the oyster will secret nacre. Divers then return the oysters to the sea in nets that allow the animals to feed while making them easily accessible to the technicians, who nurture and monitor them for the few years it takes to produce a gem. Every two weeks during that period, the nets are briefly brought on board to remove from the shells any marine growth, which can carry parasites or diseases that might disrupt the formation of the pearls.
Despite these efforts, on average, only about half of the oysters will produce a South Sea pearl, and less then 1 percent of those will be of the quality that Chanel uses for its new Les Perles de Chanel, a collection that includes pieces in which large South Sea pearls seemingly spring from gold and diamond spheres and sunbursts. These pieces – as well as others designed with pearls of various colors, round or irregular-shaped Tahitian pearls, elongated or nugget like freshwater pearls, or domed mabe pearls – demonstrate how versatile the gems have become, however painstaking and uncertain their cultivation is.
